Kalachandji’s ooooh weeeeee

Kalachandji’s Restaurant & Palace in Dallas, TX (photo by Tui Snider)

I’m a real-deal, born-and-raised Texan, and I love me some good eatin’. I’m talkin’ steaks, burgers, ribs, the whole nine yards. So when my wife dragged me to this vegetarian place, I was skeptical. But I’m here to tell you, I was wrong.

Kalachandji’s is a real hidden gem. It’s a small, family-owned restaurant in East Dallas, and the food is out of this world. The chana masala is so flavorful, it’ll make your taste buds sing. And the tofu tikka masala is so tender, it’ll melt in your mouth. I even tried the saag paneer, and I’m not ashamed to say I liked it.

But the food ain’t the only thing that makes Kalachandji’s special. The service is top-notch, too. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and they’re always happy to make recommendations, even good enough to the hit the spot for a meat eatin’ big ole Texas boy like me. And the atmosphere is warm and inviting, it’s a great place to relax and enjoy a good meal.

What really sets Kalachandji’s apart is its location. The restaurant is next door to a Hare Krishna temple, and you can often see the temple’s members going about their daily lives. It’s a fascinating glimpse into a different culture, and it’s a great reminder that there’s more to the world than just Texas. And some of it … ain’t too bad.

So if you’re looking for a great vegetarian restaurant in Dallas, I highly recommend Kalachandji’s. It’s a real-deal Texas joint that’s sure to please. And if you’re feeling adventurous, you can even take a peek at the temple next door. You might just learn something about Krishna and realize he’s a pretty good God-dude too.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to get me some of that chana masala.
